Reverse Osmosis Filtration For Swimming Pools

In Las Vegas, Nevada, we deal with hard water in our swimming pools, and from time to time you’re going to have to do something about it. If you frequent a pool store to test your pool water chemistry at which time your Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), or Cyanuric Acid (CYA) gets high they will most commonly recommend a drain and refill. Before you do that, let’s discuss what is involved with that before you do. In fact, let’s discuss some of the dangers of draining a pool, why recycling is a much better option, and how City Wide Pool Service can give you the best water to swim in all year round!

In Las Vegas, our fill water for swimming pools is loaded with calcium, magnesium, and other hardness minerals. As your pool water evaporates the calcium will remain in the solution and gradually build up in concentration. When this happens it will begin to scale your interior finish, the water tile line, and your filtration equipment. It will also scale your water features and salt chlorinator if you have one!

When this happens you only have two options, you can drain the swimming pool and fill it up with hard water again or you can recycle the swimming pool water using Reverse Osmosis filtration. Please note, in some states, the water coming out of the tap is already harder than what is recommended for your pool! If you decide to drain the swimming pool it can be a painstaking 2-3 day process, you lose hours that you could be swimming and as stated above, the fill water is already loaded with high levels of Calcium Hardness. Not to mention this can also be very dangerous for your swimming pool. Whereas, instead of draining you could recycle the swimming pool water with Reverse Osmosis filtration which is a great alternative to draining and it conserves up to 85% of the existing water. This process is known as The Puripool Process.

Mobile Filtration for Swimming Pools

We offer a mobile filtration system that allows us to pull up to your residential or commercial swimming pool, drop a suction and return line into the swimming pool and filter out the calcium, CYA, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), salts, phosphates, nitrates, waterborne diseases, and other hardness minerals without draining the pool. The following are some of the benefits:

  • You can swim in the pool during the process since there are no electrical cords involved.
  • This process usually takes less than 24 hours for most residential swimming pools
  • You don’t expose any of the interior finish
  • Water conservation (we have conserved more than 68 million gallons so far)
  • No need to rent a pump and waste your time watching it.
  • You can drink the water that’s returning to the pool
  • Increases the lifespan of the pool, pumps, and liners if done every 2 years
  • Water is soft and more fun to swim in

When it comes to draining your swimming pool or recycling the water there is no comparison. Our water is better, there are no risks involved, and you can conserve nature’s most precious resource, WATER! Contact us today to learn more.
